Taking Care of The Elderly
I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will
curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in
the land that the Lord your
God is giving you.
“Whoever curses his father or his mother shall be put to death.
For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I
command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and
to the poor, in your land.’
“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to
them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor
your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that
it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.”
But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need,
yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little
children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.
“‘Cursed be anyone who perverts the justice due to the sojourner,
the fatherless, and the widow.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
